SEVA 2026
Saturday 16th May 2025 – Women’s Competition
Another successful and enjoyable SEVA Women’s competition took place on Saturday 16th May 2026, with 10 Teams entered there was some fierce competition.
In Pool A the top of the table was very tight with Spelthorne Sharks and Oxford Flamingos tied on 6 sets, with Dolphins just 1 set behind on 5 sets
Pool A was won by Sharks due to their superior point difference with Oxford Flamingos runners-up
Pool B was also a tight fought pool, Basingstoke Lionesses were winners only dropping the one set, runners up were Ashcombe Archers who placed ahead of Jersey who both finished up winning 5 sets but Ashcombe Archers had the superior points difference.
Semi-final 1 saw Spelthorne Sharks play Ashcombe Archers for a place in the final, again another tight match but Spelthorne Sharks were able to take the win 2 sets to 0 (21-19, 21-19)
Semi Final 2 saw an all Berkshire League semi-final with Oxford Flamingos vs Basingstoke Lionesses. Back in March Basingstoke were able to push Oxford to 3 sets before going down 2-1, at SEVA Oxford Flamingos were able to win comfortably 2-0.
The final saw a rematch of an early pool match with Oxford Flamingos and Spelthorne Sharks fighting for the title. Oxford went in as narrow favourites having won the earlier pool game but only very narrowly (23-21, 16,13).
The first set of the final saw that same form continued with Oxford taking the set narrowly 21-19.
In the 2nd set Oxford accelerated away winning the set, the match and the Women’s tournament.
Congratulations Oxford Flamingos!

Semi-Final 2 saw Oxford Vollox take on Portsmouth Utd. Again another close match but Oxford Vollox proved too strong and took the match 2-0 (21-19, 21-18)
The Final was between the two pool winners Brighton Jaguars and Oxford Vollox. Oxford Vollox were under pressure to duplicate the feat of their Women’s team who took victory in the Women’s competition on Saturday.
Oxford Vollox started well and took the first set 21-13 but Brighton fought back bravely and won the second set 21-14.
The final set was a real nail biter however in the end Oxford Vollox ran out by the narrowest margin winning the set 17-15, the match (2-0) and the Tournament.
Well done Oxford Vollox!
